An Elegant Maine Wedding

Sara and Shawn said their vows at the Bethel Inn on a cold but gorgeous autumn afternoon. After a small lock dilemma (not really but it would make a good story) Sara made her way down from her suite to find her groom awaiting. The kiss was magical (dad might of thought it was a bit long) and it set the stage for an elegant evening of fine dining and dancing. We braved the cold for some outdoor shots that basked in the sun that illuminated the bright smiles that were aglow on Sara and Shawn's newly married faces. Congrats to you, Mr. and Mrs. Klingener! I hope your having fun on the west coast!!

When Nature Calls

There are certain things in life we cannot control; such as when a baby wants to enter the world (say 6 weeks early) or when he'll tinkle all over your studio! The Bernier's brought their newborn son Kaden for his much anticipated second session (a bit earlier than I had planned). Once again I had so much fun with this young and beautiful family. Congrats guys!

Why not play some more??

Frank and Crystal Duguay and thier children also wanted some candid family portraits. We chose to start out in the studio and as the children tired of getting their portraits taken we went to a local school playground and let them be themselves. Such a cute family!!

No Relation?

In a matter of a week I spent time with another Gallant Family. We have a lot of Gallant's in Rumford! Kevin and Heather brought their beautiful children to our town's new walking path for some candid family portraits. The kids had a ball playing in the leaves and even attempting to catch them as they fell!

Autumn Play Time

The Gallants met with me on a pleasant Autumn afternoon. The played and walked in the field, they were so natural and fun. We later went to the studio for some more shots. Here are some from their session.

In the nick o'time!

Typically when I schedule for maternity sessions I aim to photograph the woman before she is "too far along". Many women are still comfortable with themselves at 8 months and yet they already have that beautiful shapely belly, so it is a perfect time. When Jen Bernier originally scheduled we were trying to capture the beauty of fall foliage but a rainy autumn afternoon brought us into the studio. We scheduled with plenty of time and I was looking ahead to November for her newborn session. Well, it happens to be that baby Kaden was too excited for his newborn session to wait that long because he arrived into the world the day after our photo session! Six weeks early!! Welcome Kaden! Here are some of the photos that we got on your last day in utero.

They were such sports!

Kristen and Corey Provencher are competitors. They love sports and love challenging each other. When Kristen and I talked about a "trash the dress" session she mentioned sports and I thought "bright and cheery", it however didn't feel that way when we started though. It was a cold, damp morning that never really changed much. The wetness really brought out the colors once we found the right leaves, which was nice. We had so much fun "sneaking" around Hosmer playing baseball, field hockey and tennis. Here is a "sneak" peak of the session. (The dress didn't get too trashed btw.)

My Little Ones

Alianna just turned one, she is learning so much everyday; Anthony is a little me, terrorizing the school grounds and stomping on a football field; Abigail is 9 and in fourth grade, she is so talented at everything!! Time seems to be going by too quickly, I can't believe how much my children have grown already. I am going to miss these days. Thank goodness we'll have at least a couple of photos to remember them by!!

Class of 2009

I want to thank all of you who choose to allow me to photograph you this summer! I really enjoyed the time we spent together. I cannot believe you are all getting ready to graduate...I remember those faces as little fifth graders!! Best of luck to all of you this year as you embark in the next stage of your life.

Portraits for Profit

Jessica said she liked "artistic black and whites" but when I met her I knew she was screaming for bold color as well. We spent a morning together that soon became afternoon; Jessica was such a pleasure to spend time with. Jessica is one of my last seniors this season and I can't help but think back to all of the wonderful young adults I had the chance to re-connect with this summer. My goal this summer was to really try to "make photos" that were true portraits of my subjects rather than "take pictures" of them. I tried to bring out each person's uniqueness and character and let them be who they are. I also strived to bring them to new locations, or shoot familiar locations differently so thier photos didn't look like everyone elses. I am happy with what I was able to accomplish this summer and Jessica's portraits are just the icing I needed for the cake.

Angelic Eyes

Angela, of Dirigo High School, decided to wait until she had her braces removed before having her senior portraits taken. The idea was to allow for a new, bright smile but it seemed as though her eyes stole the show! Angela has eyes that truly open up to her soul and reveal her sweet innocence. We had planned an outdoor session as well but once again Mother Nature decided to bestow rain upon us so we decided on a studio session instead.
